Anger

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Have you ever thought about your anger ?

If you could stop it, would you ?

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

How often do you get angry ?

How angry do you get ?

What about ?

What do you do when you get angry ?

Argue, yell, hit ?
Say things you don't mean
Call someone you love names
and say you hate them.
Behave irrationally,
Leave ?

How often are you ashamed of your behavior
after an angry argument ?

How often do you regret becoming angry ?

How often is your anger really justified ?

Do you think you could benefit from less anger ?
Could others ?

Anger, Upset = Temporary Insanity

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Anger can make us crazy. Anger can make us lose our rational, reasonable minds. It makes us behave in ways that make us ashamed later. An angry person can kill.

I would assert that when we are in the grip of a certain kind anger and upset, we are in a way, not sane. This kind of insanity is actually fairly common and ordinary in many families or marriages - when we get so mad that we say ridiculous things, yell or scream, throw things, and do other scary or violent things to each other.

Just because we are angry at someone, doesn't mean the other person is a bad. But it often feels that way, and our own anger (and theirs too) is what is blocking reasonable dialog with those we love and colors each other with a negative view.

If you are angry, you could be wrong. It is when the anger passes and the clouds have cleared that we can see the best, and see each other's point of view.

Think of how many misunderstandings are often cleared up when our anger passes and we can talk to one another.

When we get angry, a certain kind of hot, uncontrollable, unreasonable anger, we cannot be reasoned with, we cannot hear each other because we have moved into the animal part of our brains where the fight or flight mode kicks in.

Sometimes we can want to fight to the death - people you love can be hurt or killed.

Sometimes, it is the "flight" feeling that wins out - we just want to get away from everything - and that can make us feel suicidal. It can be the beginning of a downward spiral into a, homocidal for some, or a suicidal episode.

If we consider that when angry we can be under an emotional chemically reactive "spell" - and we literally want to "run away from life" - or literally disappear, cease to exist, fade into nothingness - then it might help for us to realize that this literally is a temporary state of mind because we are upset.

We can still be upset to some degree when we calm down, and it doesn't mean that all problems are gone, but we can then try to figure out how to make things better in the light of day.

Number one thing to do - start taking some serious vitamins !!

As a side effect of using supplements
to treat my depression,

I found out that taking extra of all vitamins (lots of B vitamins), minerals and amino acids helps decrease my anger, too. It is often becoming angry and upset that can create suicidal feelings. Less anger means less fighting and arguing with those we love. Less anger, impatience and irritation means more understanding, love, and forgiveness for loved ones.

Patience and understanding can mean life or death when it comes to strangers we meet. Ever hear of "road rage"? Is it not irrational anger that causes us to think that going a little faster than the guy in front of us is worth risking our lives and those of anyone in the car or in other cars around us ?

Sometimes we feel powerful when we are angry. I assert that a person who is angry and out of control is at his / her weakest. Something else is controlling you. Others can control you by getting you angry whether they mean to or not. Is anyone proud of themselves in the aftermath of a screaming, yelling, or hitting fit of violent anger ?

Think it's ridiculous to suggest that a handful of vitamins can prevent that kind of anger ? Think again. It is scientifically sane to replace or increase in the brain and body, that which make it function to begin with. You get it ?

I will be writing more. But for now - if you are afraid of your feelings of anger or rage - if you are afraid of what you might say or do next time to someone you love, or to yourself - you need to get started on your new life right now.
